  6.         Thank you very much for taking the time to evaluate and use
  7.         ALLFIX. We have done our best to make sure that this release
  8.         version will not dissapoint you!

  10.         One of the major changes in this update release concerns the
  11.         key system. As you probably know, previous releases of ALLFIX
  12.         were distributed in two different versions, one evaluation
  13.         version and one registered version. As of this particular
  14.         release, there will only be one version. Without a valid
  15.         registration key, this version will function in "evaluation"
  16.         mode. After inserting a valid registration key, this version
  17.         will function in "registered" mode. This new system means that
  18.         you no longer have to file request a special registered version
  19.         of ALLFIX after you register!

  22.       │ How install ALLFIX/2 v1.01 from the installation diskette:

  25.         Put the diskette in drive A

  27.         type A:\INSTALL

  29.         The install program will offer you the option of updating a
  30.         previously installed version of ALLFIX or installing a new
  31.         version on your harddisk. Please read the update notes later
  32.         in this document.

  39.         If you are installing this package from the archive distributed
  40.         via the BBS systems then type:

  47.       │ Updating from ALLFIX/2 gamma 1

  49.         If you are updating from ALLFIX/2 Gamma 1, then please follow
  50.         the following instructions carefully:

  52.                 run     ALLFIX Announce

  54.                 copy the new .EXE files over the old files.
  55.  
  56.                 run     OS2UPD1
  57.                 run     OS2UPD2
  58.                 run     ASETUP Index

  62.       │ Updating from a previous version of ALLFIX
  63.  
  64.         If you are updating from ALLFIX for Dos, then use the Update
  65.         Utility (UPDATE.EXE) to update the configuration files to the
  66.         new format.

  68.         FCOMP must be run before you are able to use the new version.
  69.         The Update utility (and Install program) will do this
  70.         automatically.

  72.         Version 1.00 and higher uses template files for all new file
  73.         reports and AreaMgr messages. If you are updating from the ALLFIX
  74.         for Dos version 4.20, then it is important that a special
  75.         directory be made for these template files. Please configure a
  76.         directory in ASETUP and unzip the TEMPLATE.ZIP archive into that
  77.         directory. This is automatically done by the install program.

  84.         We have many many new features planned for future releases of
  85.         ALLFIX. It would be impossible to mention them all. However,
  86.         just to give you an idea of what we have planned, we will mention
  87.         a few things. We are planning some changes in ASETUP to make the
  88.         program more user friendly. And we would also like to combine the
  89.         uplink manager and the group manager into one powerfull system to
  90.         manage all your uplinks.
